Expert Tips from My Kitchen
Use room temperature cheese—it’s easier to spoon into the dates.
Don’t overstuff; a generous amount is perfect, but too much cheese will leak out as they bake.
Bake on parchment paper for easy cleanup and no sticking.
For the best flavor, serve these stuffed dates slightly warm, not piping hot.
Make a small slit with a paring knife rather than splitting the dates completely—they’ll hold their shape better.
Serving Suggestions
Wine pairing – A dry sparkling wine or Champagne is the perfect match for the sweetness of the dates and saltiness of the prosciutto.
Add a drizzle of balsamic glaze or honey right before serving for an extra layer of flavor.
Serve on charcuterie boards with marinated olives and cheeses for a complete spread.
Plate them alongside brussels sprouts or roasted vegetables for a savory appetizer with more contrast.
Storage Instructions
Cool completely, then store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
Reheat on a sheet pan in a 350°F (175°C) oven for 8–10 minutes to crisp the prosciutto again.
These can be stuffed and wrapped a day ahead—just keep them chilled until ready to bake.
