Yes, Aperol is generally considered gluten-free. Aperol is made primarily from alcohol, sugar, and a blend of herbs and botanicals, which typically do not contain gluten. How to Make an Aperol Spritz Pitcher
Step 1: Fill a large pitcher halfway with ice cubes. Slice an orange into thin rounds and add them to the pitcher as a garnish.
Step 2: Pour 2 cups of Aperol into the pitcher.
Step 3: Add 3 cups of Prosecco to the pitcher.
Step 4: Carefully pour 1 cup of soda water into the pitcher. Use a long spoon or stirring rod to mix the ingredients gently. Serve the Aperol Spritz from the pitcher into glasses filled with ice cubes, ensuring each glass receives some orange slices.
Tips and Notes
- Serve immediately – Aperol Spritz is best served fresh to enjoy its bubbly effervescence and vibrant flavors. Avoid letting the batch sit for too long before serving to prevent it from going flat.
- Garnish just before serving – Add the orange slices to the pitcher just before serving to preserve their freshness and aroma. This ensures that each glass of Aperol Spritz is beautifully garnished and bursting with citrus flavor.

Having drunk many Aperol spritzs I can assure you that this is the best Summer drink possible. Siamo bevando uno adesso.
This recipe has been on repeat all summer. Delicious, light, and easy to make!
how many hours ahead can you make this mixed pitcher?
Hi Nancy!
I think the best way to make this โaheadโ while not sacrificing effervescence, would be to put the aperol in a pitcher, and stick that in the fridge so it gets very cold. You can add the Prosecco if youโd like (no more than 2 hours before serving). Top with soda water immediately before serving!
Is soda water the same as seltzer?
Hi Emilie, it is!
